Dr. Kent Holtorf - Fox News "Tracking H1N1" (Swine Flu)

Dr. Kent Holtorf talks with Fox News about the symptoms and treatment of H1N1 (Swine Flu). He is an expert on infectious diseases and his views on the new vaccine coming to the market in October are very alarming to say the least.

I am aware that other medical experts disagree with him but who are we to believe? I am in an "at risk" group being a heart patient, so I am confused as to what to do if or when I am offered this vaccination by my medical surgery. Annually, I receive the normal winter flu jab and have never suffered any ill effects but this is an additional vaccination with questionable trial research.

Your considered views and informed opinions would be most welcome.

Hmmmmm...

1. The most charitable adjective to describe Fox News is "tendentious." I discount almost everything I see there. If Fox told me that the sky was blue, I would go outside to check for myself.

2. Dr. Holtorf describes himself elsewhere as "an expert in natural bioidentical hormone replacement and optimization for women and men, endocrinology, thyroid dysfunction (difficult thyroid cases), fatigue syndromes, adrenal insufficiency, growth hormone replacement, chronic fatigue syndrome, fibromyalgia, chronic infections and multiple endocrine dysfunction." All that and infectious diseases, too?

David, has your doctor said anything to you about having this vaccination?

As for the doctor, well, to be honest I wouldn't have it purely on his words.
The problem is as soon as anything like this happens there is always someone claiming they have come up with a miracle vaccination.
Please check with your doctor, david, he/she will know whats best for you.

Just a suggestion. If you have a choice of believing the AMA, CDC, or Doctor Holtorf, choose Dr Holtorf. As one of his patients I can only tell you that I'd be dead if I had listened to main stream medicine over Holtorf. Holtorf is way over their league.

Dr. Holtorf said: "...it's a proven neurotoxin. It has 25,000 times the level of mercury than would be considered toxic if it was a food or water. And levels get up to--serum levels--up to 100 times a toxic level..."

By contrast, the New York Times said:
"Flu vaccine packaged in a multidose vial contains thimerosal, a preservative that prevents contamination of the vial during repeated use. One dose from a multiuse vial contains about 25 micrograms of mercury. By comparison, a tuna fish sandwich contains about 28 micrograms of mercury. Repeated studies have shown thimerosal to be safe. However, people who want to minimize mercury exposure can ask for a vaccine in a single-dose package, which has only trace amounts. Thimerosal is not used in the production of FluMist."

Fox News is not news. They scoured and found someone who has a DR. in front of their name that would refuse to give the vaccine to his children. They see fit to call him an "Expert in infectious disease", which he is not. He is a homeopath whose does not believe in ANY synthetic drugs, mercury or not. Why did Fox seem to forget to mention he was a homeopath? They (Fox) have a history of fear-mongering. If you are in the high risk group TAKE THE SHOT! If you get the flu, I challenge you to investigate the possible side effects and risks of the drugs they will give you if you contact a severe case of the flu! As for the misinformation on mercury, see this link to a REAL doctor: http://open.salon.com/blog/amytuteurmd/2009/10/29/the_truth_about_thimerosal

You state Dr. Holtorf is a homeopath. Incorrect!!! He received his MD from St Louis University and did his residency at UCLA. Seems like YOU, not Dr Holtorf, are trying to spread misinformation about the safety pf vaccines and thimerosal!!

Dr. Holtorf isn't an expert on infectious diseases. His offices 'treat' patients with complaints like fatigue and low labido.
